Combining Krungsri’s Thai expertise and deep understanding of customer needs with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s global strength in offering a comprehensive range of products and services, Krungsri aims to be the main lender and a main operating bank for SME customers, Sayam Prasitsirigul, head of Krungsri’s SME banking group, said yesterday.
He said the bank also aimed to help propel the National e-Payment Master Plan towards a digital economy to enhance the sustainable growth of Thai SME businesses and the overall economy.
He added that as the SME business segment is the backbone of Thailand’s economy, Krungsri had continuously focused on supporting SME entrepreneurs in growing their businesses.
This year, Krungsri aims to expand its SME customer base and grow the SME loan portfolio, with a loan-growth target of 6.8 per cent to Bt164.04 billion, up from Bt153.56 billion in 2016.
He said Krungsri had set three strategies to improve the customer experience and enhance its relationship with SME customers.
First, it will offer new products and services and create new business opportunities by providing working capital, trade finance products, and supply-chain solutions.
Second, it will offer lending facilities and financial advisory services as customers’ main lending bank through knowledge-sharing and business-matching activities in both domestic and overseas markets as well as data analytics from Krungsri and MUFG.
Finally, it will handle payment and receipt transactions as customers’ main operating bank.
“The three strategies will enable Krungsri to provide total solutions efficiently and serve the demand of SME customers thoroughly,” Sayam said.
“Krungsri’s SME customers will benefit from the synergy between Krungsri’s unique capabilities and MUFG’s global network, which will provide them with access to opportunities to expand businesses boundlessly.
“Another major mission Krungsri has taken as a commitment is to help drive the National e-Payment Scheme in gearing Thailand towards a digital economy.
“This year, Krungsri is launching the Krungsri Business PromptPay PrompFree campaign for juristic persons, offering unlimited free fund transfers via online channels.
“At the same time, Krungsri has collaborated with every segment to strengthen and support the sustainable growth of the Thai economy,” he added.
