Toyota Motor Thailand expands the competition for Toyota Motorsport 2017

Toyota Motor Thailand Co Ltd (TMT) is revving up its sport marketing drive this year with a larger field for the annual Toyota Motorsport 2017 series to be held from June to December.
Apart from the usual Vios One Make Race men’s and women’s categories and the Corolla Altis One Make Race, this year the Hilux Revo One Make Race will also be introduced, Toyota said at a press conference. The races will be held in Phuket (June 10-11), Chon Buri (June 30-July 2) Nakhon Ratchasima (September 16-17), Buri Ram (October 7-8) and Chiang Mai (December 9-10).
Michinobu Sugata, president of TMT, said: “For Toyota Motorsport in Thailand, we continue to emphasize Toyota's brand image as the prominent motorsport leader by offering an enjoyable and exhilarating motorsports experience presented through the Hilux Revo One Make Race, Corolla Altis One Make Race and Vios One Make Race. 
“In addition at the international level, we will have our Corolla Altis ESport compete in ADAC Zurich 24h Nürburgring in Germany for the fourth consecutive year. The car will be driven by the skilful racers of Toyota GAZOO Racing Team Thailand. This represents our strong effort to promote Thai motorsports along with developing the skills of Thai car racers.”
“Looking at the tremendous success in Thailand, Toyota distributors in neighbouring Asian countries started to follow our activities. For example, Toyota Motor Philippines initiated its Vios CuP One Make Race in 2014, where I also joined as a racer as well as president of the company. On top of that, Malaysia is also going to stage One Make Race this year in the name of Vios Challenge. Now, I can proudly say that Thailand is a mother country of Toyota Motorsport for Asia, and my personal dream is to organise the Toyota Grand One Make Race where top racers from Asia compete and we decide the Champion of Asia someday in the future.”
Established by Toyota Motor Corp in 2015, Toyota GAZOO Racing oversees all Toyota Motorsports activities, placing motorsports as a fundament in its commitment to make ever-better cars while enhancing motorsports to the international level under Toyota’s management standard. 
The TMT president added that this year, all Toyota Motorsport activities will be brought up to the international level in compliance with Toyota GAZOO Racing’s philosophy in order to promote motorsports to expand into many other countries in Asia-Pacific region.
