AIS reports 4.7% drop in first-quarter net profit

Thailand's largest cellular operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) on Thursday reported a decline of first quarter's net profit of 4.7 per cent year on year to Bt7.693 billion, according to its filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
It has expected the consolidated service revenue this year to improve between four per cent and five per cent year on year. The total cash capital expenditure this year (excluding existing spectrum upfront payment) is expected to be in the range of between Bt40 billion and Bt45 billion for both mobile and fixed broadband businesses.
AIS share price on Thursday dropped 0.28 per cent to close at Bt175.
