TISCO PARTNERS 10 FIRMS TO OFFER MUTUAL FUNDS

Tisco Bank has partnered with 10 leading asset management firms in Thailand to jointly offer mutual fund products at all Tisco branches nationwide, Tisco president Sakchai Peechapat said.

The bank is in the process of signing formal collaboration agreements with 10 partners. It will complete signing the agreements with four partners – Krungthai Asset Management, UOB Asset Management, Krungsri Asset Management and Manulife Asset Management – this month and with the other six partners next month. The service is expected to be fully launched by the end of this year.

PCCW MEDIA OFFERS |PREMIUM KOREAN CONTENT

PCCW Media, Hong Kong's global player in the entertainment industry, recently launched the Viu over-the-top (OTT) video content service in Thailand. 
The term OTT refers to audio, video and other content transmitted via the Internet. 
The launch allows Thai viewers to access free and commercial premium content from the largest authorised library of the latest premium Korean content with Viu. 
The Viu app can be downloaded for free at Apple Store and Google Play or viewers can visit www.viu.com to view the content online. Users can also subscribe to the Viu Premium service via an in-app purchase for Bt119 per month with a seven-day free trial. As part of its regional expansion strategy, Viu has forged alliances with multiple telecommunications companies to extend its premium services to more users. 
In Thailand, it has partnered with Advanced Info Service (AIS) to offer content on a promotional basis. From last Wednesday until June 30, customers can log on to the AIS PLAY mobile application to activate the Viu Premium package, as AIS customers can enjoy the promotional exclusive offer of Bt99 per month with the first 60-day free trial of content viewing. 
Helen Sou, senior vice president of digital media at PCCW Media, said that with the rise of mobile and fixed broadband penetration and network quality in Thailand, the company was seeing a rapid shift in the way media content was being consumed. 
Viu was first launched in October 2015. With the inclusion of Thailand, the Viu OTT video service has expanded rapidly into 15 markets across the region with 6 million active users per month. The other markets are Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and the Middle East, namely Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

SET FIRMS POST BT285 BN PROFITS IN FIRST QUARTER 

SET-listed companies posted combined net profits in the first quarter of this year of Bt285 billion, up 21.36 per cent year on year, driven by the improving performance of companies in energy, utilities, petroleum and chemicals.
A total of 572 listed companies out of 619 listed companies (including property funds, real estate investment trust, and infrastructure funds but excluding non-compliance companies and the non-performing group) submitted the first quarter financial results to the SET. Of those, 432 posted net profits. Companies in the consumer product sector also posted a 4.89 per cent annual growth of sales revenues and an annual growth of 2.31 per cent of net profits.
