NBTC opens Line account

NBTC opens Line account

THE National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has opened an account on the Line social media platform as another layer of communication with the companies it regulates and consumers.

Natee Sukonrat, chairman of the NBTC broadcasting committee, said that the committee had invested Bt7 million in opening the Line account, which will deliver information to more than 6,000 radio broadcast licensees, 600 TV operators and public.
The NBTC says the Line account will enable faster communications with business operators and the public. Previously, it would take up to four days for information and official documents to be received by stakeholders. Meanwhile, the committee says the Line account will also enable consumers to request information from the NBTC as part of a two-way communication that includes a chat function.
Takorn Tantasith, secretary-general of the NBTC, said that licensees and operators will benefit from the swift and accurate new means of communications.
Ariya Banomyong, managing director of Line Thailand, said that the company was pleased to be cooperating with the NBTC to help improve the delivery of both business content and public content.
Some 42 million Thais have a Line account.
