Consensus is forming around an increase in exports this of at least the targeted 5 per cent, Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said after a recent discussion with private-sector representatives.
Somdet Susomboon, deputy director-general for MOC's Department of International Trade Promotion, said that the consensus firmed up as result of the global economic recovery.
The private-sector representatives included thoe from the Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of the Thai Industries, the Thai National Shippers' Council and exporters. Groups that estimated an improvement in Thai exports for the second half of the year included those engaged in the food sector.
