Emerson turns to robots, citing Thailand 4.0

Emerson has made a public commitment to the Thailand 4.0 vision, as well as to the industrial sector within the country’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and the Thai economy generally.

 

With its 21st year approaching, 
The company will be investing in robotic processes to increase automation, according to a press release.
"We have started investing in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) the technology that will allow our employees to configure computer software or a ‘robot’ to capture and interpret existing applications for processing a transaction and manipulating data, as well as communicating with other digital systems,” said Thomas Zofkie, vice president of Asia operations for Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions Platform.
“The goal is to improve our productivity, Zofkie said.
He made the comments on Monday in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the company’s Rayong Plant.
Emerson has 10 manufacturing locations and 30 sales and service locations in Asia, including Thailand. The company has reached over US$1 billion (Bt33 billion) in sales and employs more than 9,000 employees across the region, the company said in a press release.
