BTMU appoints Krungsri’s Pornsanong to topmost management position
Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU), a subsidiary of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) – Japan’s largest financial group – has appointed Pornsanong Tuchinda, Krungsri's executive director and senior executive vice president, to the position of executive officer of BTMU. The appointment marks the first nomination of a local senior executive to BTMU’s top management position.
Pornsanong is recognised and respected as one of the key influential figures within the Thai banking community.
As one of the key leaders in driving Krungsri towards a top-tier financial group in Thailand, Pornsanong – under his new roles – can further leverage his global networks and perspectives and capture business opportunities in empowering Krungsri to a new height of success, the company said on Tuesday.
His new position and roles will be concurrent with his current roles as executive director and head of commercial banking at Krungsri, and he will continue to be based in Bangkok. Through his executive-officer mandate at BTMU, Pornsanong will officially represent Krungsri in performing BTMU executive-officer duties and conduct, wherein he will share Krungsri’s competitive and unique capabilities while networking with and attaining MUFG’s best practices and global perspectives, the company said.
Krungsri – Bank of Ayudhya and its business units – is a strategic member of MUFG.
