Motorcycle sales boost Krungsri Auto’s expectations

Krungsri Auto, Bank of Ayudhya’s automotive financing arm, estimates that new lending for Krungsri Motorcycle will reach Bt14 billion for 2017, a year-on-year increase of 8 per cent, fuelled by a steady recovery in motorcycle sales.

“Driven by improved domestic spending, the upward trend in agricultural prices and projected gross domestic product expansion of 3.8 per cent in 2017, the motorcycle market is expected to see constant growth,” said Ayudhya Capital Auto Lease managing director Kittiya Srisanit. “For 2017, sales are forecast to grow by 4 per cent year-on-year, to 1.8 million units.
“During the first half of this year, Krungsri Motorcycle loans had strong growth. The new-lending volume is valued at Bt7.5 billion, a year-on-year gain of 15 per cent, outperforming the industry growth of 4 per cent.
“This achievement is a result of the recent adjustment of team structure to accommodate rising demand and the expansion of motorcycle-dealer networks,” she said.
“Another supporting factor is from Krungsri Big Bike’s new lending volume via online platforms, which has attained a spectacular growth of 200 per cent. The success was supported by the marketing communication campaign Big Bike Loy Lom.
“By building brand awareness through content that caters to the unique lifestyle of the new generation, who dream of owning their first big bike, the campaign has generated over 3,000 online applications for Krungsri Big Bike loan.”
With strong first-half performance, Krungsri Auto has revised its 2017 new-lending volume target for Krungsri Motorcycle to Bt14 billion, representing 8-per-cent year-on-year growth.
“In the fourth quarter, Krungsri Auto will continue to directly serve customers through automotive events nationwide and aims to maintain our leadership in motorcycle finance market,” Kittiya said.
