New TCEB apps as smartphone users grow

New TCEB apps as smartphone users grow

THAILAND CONVENTION and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has unveiled its latest innovation with the launch of two mobile applications, Smart Biz Event and Smart Biz Organiser in response to the growing trend of smartphone users.

TCEB’s president Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya said yesterday that the bureau aimed to catch up with the digital trends and cater to the demand of MICE organisers and travellers. In addition, for the convenience of the MICE industry, the applications are effective tool to help reduce cost of planners and organisers in the areas of registration process, manpower, communications and public relations.
The Smart Biz Event is developed to facilitate MICE visitors. It offers a one-touch registration system and comprehensive event information. The TCEB expects to see 10,000 downloads of Smart Biz Event app within 2018.
Sarita Chintakanond, TCEB's innovation specialist, added that the two apps come in Thai and English, with much useful information for visitors attending business events in Thailand. The Smart Biz Event app uses location-based services to help you browse and find attractions, restaurants, hotels, business venues, events, and other points-of-interest in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and other popular business destinations in Thailand.
All information in the app can be conveniently saved as “Favourites” as well as sharing with friends and |colleagues via social media.
The app features pre-event (registration and event information), in-event (attendee check-in, survey/questionnaire, agenda details, floor plan), and post-event (analytics). The organiser can verify status of the attendees and check-in via QR Code.
The organiser can customise questionnaire for each event, while participants would be able to get event materials by scanning QR Code available at the event. Then, the documents or speeches of speakers requested will be sent via e-mail.
For the Smart Biz Organiser app, it is now available for event organisers to register free of charge at http://contact.smartbizevent.com. The app helps organisers verify and check event participants swiftly.
The organisers can also edit content and information in real-time. In addition, the app provides backend system, enabling the organisers to see the report and analytics. Sarita said that the apps were designed to support event organisers, especially small and medium-sized enterprises with limited budget for application development.
Furthermore, Smart Biz Organiser is also useful for educational institutes which organise the events.
For the digital sales and marketing campaigns, the bureau has created an online 360-degree virtual reality platform via www.businesseventThailand.com/360virtualtour. After introducing the virtual reality sales kits, the bureau has received a record 1.6 million views within two months (August-September 2016).
