CONSUMER CONFIDENCE

CONSUMER CONFIDENCE

The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) rose for a third straight month, reaching 76.7 in October, reflecting domestic stability and consumers’ expectations for economic improvement, following the recovery of the export and tourism sectors, according to the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce’s Centre for Economic and Business Forecasting.

Thanawat Polvichai, the centre’s director, said that consumers expected the Thai economy to improve following the recovery of Thai exports and tourism in the latter half of this year. Most consumers’ concern eased on the country's current political situations.
