EXIM Thailand supports Thai Luxe Enterprises’ geothermal power business in Japan
EXIM Thailand has signed a financial-facility agreement worth ¥2.205 billion (Bt641 million) with Thai Luxe Enterprise to support the company’s investment in eight geothermal power-plant projects with a combined capacity of 1,000 kilowatts on Japan’s Kyushu island.
Pisit Serewiwattana, president of the Export-Import Bank of Thailand, said on Tuesday that the bank stood ready to render financial support to Thai entrepreneurs investing overseas, especially in new types of power business.
Listed company Thai Luxe Enterprise is the first Thai enterprise to engage in geothermal power-plant business in Japan, using geothermal heat to generate electricity 24 hours a day.
This is in line with the Japanese government’s policy to promote the use of renewable energy sources in order to secure a supply of energy appropriate for the country’s economic and social environment.
