Major sees sharp rise in in-cinema advertising

MAJOR CINEPLEX GROUP expects high growth of in-cinema advertising in 2018, propelling by three factors – affordable prices, high variety of media, ability to access to right groups of consumers.

The group also projects big increase in the numbers of moviegoers when compared to 2017, with mega Hollywood and Thai movies scheduled to be shown this year. Meanwhile, the group will increase the numbers of theatres both in Thailand and neighbouring countries, especially CLMV. 
Niti Pattanapakdee, Chief Media Officer , Major Cineplex Group Public Co Ltd, provides an overview of 2017 in-cinema advertising, saying that revenue from the sector had gone in the opposite direction of the Thai economy and advertising industry. 
According to Niti, the in-cinema advertising is a far more effective tool in reaching to consumers when compared to other advertising tools and techniques, and this fact is propelling the continuous trend of revenue growth for the group. 
He also emphasised that Major Cineplex Group’s advertising media is not just a medium for customers to send their messages to consumers, but also allows them to add more value on each of their advertising pieces through various channels such as sponsorship, cross promotion, interactive activity, interactive media and events. 
In 2018, Major Cineplex Group believes its in-cinema advertising will still be popular among customers because it is an affordable and very effectively way in reaching a wide range of audience such as teenagers, working-age people and families. 
It is an effective way to create awareness and recollection of each piece of ads among audience, and at the same time provides better reach to specific groups of consumers by categorising them with genres of movies, namely action, drama, romance,comedy,thriller,animated,and family. 
Moreover, there are high variety of media, including screen ads, VDO wall, and tri-vision on plasma monitor, menu board, and also the 4D ads which is the newest innovation offered in the group’s 4DX theatres. 
Besides, the group also offers the new online ad channels to access large number of Thai netizens through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Line.
