Managing director Sunti Medhavikul said this week the firm would seek to accommodate the “Thailand 4.0” era and facilitate the digital transformation of organizations across the country.
The strategy’s four elements:
* Digital Network: UIH is using digital technologies to upgrade its existing backbone networks to the bandwidth speed of 1 terabits per second (Tbps).
With Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, these networks efficiently connect with points in various nations in the region. UIH networks are highly stable with high quality, perfect for customers’ huge traffic needs.
UIH has already added the third main fibre-optic line along 2,500 kilometres of railway to enhance network services, increase connection stability and accommodate growing demand.
Moreover, UIH has linked its networks to Myanmar Information Highway (MIH) for the delivery of direct fibre-optic services from Thailand to 21 commercial zones in Yangon.
Such quality fibre-optic networks are the great choice for corporate clients operating in Myanmar as well as for Thai companies that plan to expand their business to the neighbouring countries.
UIH has added 300 rack cabinets to its data centre at the Benchachinda Building and partnered with 20 data centres for data links over UIH Data Centre Ring. These strategic moves are going to efficiently accommodate the growing use of cloud and big data in the future.
* Partnership with Global Partners: UIH has direct connections to world-class cloud service providers that have main offices in Singapore. Among them are Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365 and Google.
Being an official partner of AWS and Microsoft, UIH’s Cloud Direct services boast great quality, stability, security and cost-efficiency.
* Establishment of Digital Solution Business Group: UIH will set up Digital Solution Business Group to give a clear focus on research and development. This group is expected to develop innovative solutions for e-document management, network monitoring management, Wi-Fi Big Data service, and various other digital works of enterprises.
Also, Digital Solution Business Group must bring UIH managed services, cloud and cybersecurity services to the next level.
* Digital People & Service: UIH will develop its staff’s expertise base on international standards in regards to cloud, cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IOT) and more.
Pre-sales and after-sales services will also be upgraded through an integrated approach for better customer care. For increased customer satisfaction, UIH is now ready to develop new after-sales-service platforms such as UIH Service Portal and UIH Service Chatbot.
Sunti adds that telegeography has predicted that Thailand’s bandwidth usage will grow by 33 per cent a year on average between 2017 and 2023.
So UIH has made full preparations to respond to the growing network demand from enterprises. With full support of great services, UIH expects to its revenue to soar by 20 per cent per annum.
