Finnish ministry signs digital deal

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Finland to set out nine areas of development to leverage digital technology and strengthen the existing relationship between the two countries to foster long-term cooperation.

Minister Pichet Durongkaveroj said the agreement aims to enhance the development on telecommunications, information technology and communications as well as digital technology, which play an important role in economic promotion, technology exchange, the development of the economy, society and culture to foster mutual interaction in investment, technology development, market expansion and human resource development based on equality and diversity. 
It allows the continued strengthening of Finnish-Thai collaboration, the minister added.
The deal formalises the development the promotion of ICT and the digital industry, broadband infrastructure and service development, the creation of smart cities, supporting entrepreneurs and collaboration in human resource development, among other areas.
The cooperation will offer interactions through meetings, workshops, seminars, the exchange of good practices and visits, the ministry said.
