LOOKING TO NEW GOVT  Sentiment rises as poor hope for support

The Grassroots Sentiment Index reached 46.1 in the first quarter of this year, up from 45.9 in the last quarter of last year, according to a Grassroots Research Centre of Government Savings Bank report yesterday.

The research covered people with an income not above Bt15,000 a month, and was based on 2,186 samples nationwide.
The confidence rise may have paralleled a rise in income flowing from price increases for some agricultural products.
Most respondents were optimistic that the new government to emerge from the election would implement additional measures to support lower-income people in the country, the research found.
