Govt looking for new export markets for Thai rubber

The government is aggressively exploring new export markets for rubber, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Friday (November 29) on the first day of the "Thailand Rubber Expo".

The premier presided over the opening ceremony of the event held by the Rubber Authority of Thailand at the Impact Muang Thong Thani exhibition centre. It ends on December 1.
Prayut said that the government was aggressively exploring new markets such as India and Turkey for Thai rubber exports.
He added that Thailand's rubber industry was facing challenges. Its main rubber importers like US and Europe are facing a slowing economy, while China can increase its own rubber capacity for domestic consumption.
He urged all related agencies to seek ways to address the problems.
