Gold price climbs in Thursday trading
The price of gold was up Bt100 per baht weight at close of trade on Thursday (April 9), the Gold Traders Association reported.
As of 2.58pm, the purchase price of gold bar stood at Bt25,250 per baht weight and the sale price at Bt25,450, while the purchase price of gold ornaments was Bt24,801.76 and sale price Bt25,950.
In morning trade, gold bar was being bought at Bt25,150 per baht weight and sold at Bt25,350, while gold ornaments stood at Bt24,695.64 and Bt25,850.
As of 5pm, Gold contracts in COMEX to be delivered in June rose by US$20.20 or 1.20 per cent to $1,704.50 per ounce, with the market still monitoring the Covid-19 outbreak after US officials said the situation should improve after this week.
