Gold price rise to a new high in eight years
The price of gold increased by Bt50 this morning (April 13), marking a new high in eight years since February 2012, the Gold Traders Association reported.
As of 9.28am, the buying price of a gold bar was Bt25,500 per baht weight and selling price Bt25,700, while gold ornaments cost Bt25,044.32 and Bt26,200, respectively.
At close on Saturday, the buying price of a gold bar was Bt25,450 and selling price Bt25,650, while gold ornaments went for Bt24,998.84 and Bt26,150, respectively.
The Gold Spot Index price this morning was moving around US$1,682 (Bt55,075) per ounce.
The previous week of April 6 to 11 saw gold prices increase by Bt450 per baht weight.
