Krisada Sektrakul rises to challenge of leading state asset management firm

Investment management firm, Sukhumvit Asset Management Company, has named Krisada Sektrakul as its new chairman of the board of directors.

Krisada was previously the senior executive vice president of the Stock Exchange of Thailand’s Sustainable Market Development Division.
He said on Tuesday (April 28) that the job of leading a state-owned asset management company was challenging, especially during a period of global slowdown brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. He also said that bank’s bad debts are expected to rise now that a large number of people have been hit by the outbreak.
With more than 25 years under its belt, Sukhumvit Asset Management has succeeded in managing bad debt and was able to plough more than Bt50 billion worth of these assets back in the economy, he said.
The Bank of Thailand also tasked the company with helping individuals with solving their debt problems since 2017, and so far, the firm has managed to restructure debts worth Bt300 billion for 50,000 people, he added.
