Gold unchanged but some investors selling as US states exit shutdown
The price of gold price remained unchanged in morning trade on Wednesday (April 29), the Gold Traders Association reported.
The buying price of a gold bar was Bt25,950 per baht weight and selling price Bt26,150, while buying price of gold ornaments was Bt25,483.96 per baht weight and selling price Bt26,650.
At close on Tuesday (April 28), gold price rose by Bt50 per baht weight from the morning trade. Buying price of a gold bar was Bt25,950 per baht weight and selling price Bt26,150, while gold ornaments were priced at Bt25,483.96 and Bt26,650, respectively.
The Gold Spot Index price on Wednesday morning moved to around US$1,711 (Bt55,491) per ounce after the price dropped by $1.6 to $1,722.2 per ounce at close on Tuesday.
Investors were selling gold after some US states began to ease lockdown measures and reopen the economy, while the gold price was pressured by the weakening dollar.
Meanwhile, the price in the Hong Kong gold market rose by HK$40 to $15,770 (Bt65,994) per tael.
