Gold bounces back by Bt50 per baht weight
The price of gold rose by Bt50 per baht weight during morning trade on Thursday (April 30), the Gold Traders Association reported.
As of 9.25am, the buying price for gold bars stood at Bt25,950 per baht weight and selling price at Bt26,150, while gold ornaments went for Bt25,483.96 and Bt26,650 per baht weight, respectively.
The price of gold had dropped by Bt50 per baht weight on Wednesday’s closing. The buying price of gold bars was Bt25,900 per baht weight and selling price Bt26,100, while gold ornaments were priced at Bt25,438.48 and Bt26,600, respectively.
The Gold Spot Index price dropped by $8.80 to $1,713.40 per ounce at Wednesday’s closing as investor shifted from safe-haven assets to risk assets after Gilead Sciences revealed that the drug Remdesivir is effective against the Covid-19 virus.
