Deputy Transport Minister Phattrapong Phattraprasit outlined preparations to welcome international visitors during the peak tourist season, saying southern Thailand’s Andaman coast remained popular with travellers from around the world.
He named two airlines in Krabi Airport’s peak-season programme for direct charter flights from Europe.
TUI fly Nordic operates direct flights from four European economic hubs.
The cities are Copenhagen in Denmark, Stockholm and Gothenburg in Sweden, and Helsinki in Finland.
LOT Polish Airlines, Poland’s national carrier, is due to fly direct from Warsaw.
Phattrapong also listed Finnair’s Helsinki–Krabi route and Scandinavian Airlines’ Copenhagen–Krabi route among the scheduled services due to return.
He added that the launch of direct routes and the return of foreign airlines reflected confidence in Krabi as a global tourist destination.
The services would also help Krabi Airport contribute to a broader regional development effort by extending tourism opportunities from major cities to regional provinces.
Phattrapong added that upgrading Krabi Airport’s infrastructure and capacity to handle large aircraft and international flights would help ease congestion at the country’s main airports.
The upgrades would also make it easier for high-quality visitors to travel directly to targeted tourist destinations in the southern provinces along the Andaman coast.
Danai Ruengsorn, director-general of the Department of Airports, described Krabi Airport’s 2026/2027 winter schedule as particularly busy, with 97 charter flights from Europe and Russia.
TUI fly Nordic is operating four direct flights a week in total from Gothenburg, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Helsinki, four hubs in Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
Its first flight of the season operated on Wednesday (November 4, 2026).
LOT Polish Airlines plans to begin direct flights from Warsaw on Monday (November 9, 2026), using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Other airlines listed for direct charters to Krabi include Neos, with flights from Prague and the Maldives, as well as IKAR, Siam Wings Airlines and Nordwind Airlines (flights from Russia).
Danai said Finnair was due to resume scheduled international flights from Helsinki to Krabi on Friday (November 27, 2026), with two to three flights a week.
Scandinavian Airlines was scheduled to operate two flights a week from Copenhagen to Krabi.
Plans also call for two Middle Eastern carriers to resume services, with Etihad Airways flying from Abu Dhabi and flydubai from Dubai.
Each airline is listed for 14 flights a week.
The aim is to make direct air travel easier for tourists from around the world visiting Krabi and other provinces along the Andaman coast.
