Pre-dawn artillery fire was reported across Sa Kaeo’s border districts, with one shell sparking a blaze at a Khok Sung home as authorities urged residents to remain at evacuation centres

State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has temporarily closed Aranyaprathet station and cut Eastern Line trains back to Sa Kaeo from Sunday (December 21), citing passenger safety after evacuation orders were issued in the area.

Thailand’s Public Health Ministry says 34 civilian deaths have been linked to the Thai-Cambodian border clashes from December 7–21, 2025, including one person killed directly, while 889 shelters have opened for more than 213,000 evacuees.

The First Army Area says military operations are still under way in Ta Phraya, Khok Sung, Aranyaprathet and Khlong Hat in Sa Kaeo, urging residents not to return to border homes and to remain in shelters for now.

Thai marines say an F-16 carried out an air strike on a Cambodian-built casino complex and a nearby residence in Ban Tha Sen, Laem Klud subdistrict, Trat, before ground forces moved in to secure the encroached area.
