A taste of Portugal

Running from June 11 to 18, the weeklong festival will feature Portuguese classics and fusion dishes along with cooking demonstrations by the Portuguese ambassador’s private chef Margarida Amaro.
“Portuguese Week at My Kitchen will help to strengthen the 500 years of strong relations enjoyed by Thailand and Portugal, and bring our communities here together,” says Portuguese ambassador Francisco Vaz Patto.

“We are thrilled by this collaboration and are very pleased to offer our customers a range of events from a celebratory dinner to cooking classes and lunchtime specials,” added Megan Wycoff of My Kitchen.
On National Day, Amaro will offer two authentic Portuguese dishes; Clams Portuguese Style cooked with lemon, garlic and coriander and Meat Bread from the city of Lamego. Top-selling products of Portugal such as wines and egg tarts and other traditional foods are also available.
My Kitchen is on the fourth floor of Siam Discovery and combines six different restaurants under the same roof. They are Nara, Cafe Chilli, Yuzu by Yuutaro, Man Fu Yuan, Kuppadeli and Brix.

During the Portugal Week, each restaurant will come up with a special dish to celebrate the relationship between the two countries. For instance, Cafe Chilli will have Thai rice vermicelli with Portuguese chicken curry, while Portuguese spicy tomato fried rice with prawns and squid will be served at Nara.
Other special dishes are Portuguese tomato chick pea salad by Kuppadeli, Portuguese potatoes with kale soup by Man Fu Yuan, tempura with Piri Piri sauce by Yuzu, and Portuguese egg tart by Brix.
On June 15 customers can enjoy the takeaway special lunch “Arroz de Pato da Jacinta” (Portuguese Duck Rice) for Bt120. Chef Amaro will host his cooking workshops on June 11, 16 and 17, twice a day at 2pm and 5pm. Premium wines from the country will flow freely for Bt350 from 5 to 7pm daily.
