More teenagers surrender over shooting death

Two more young suspects surrendered to police yesterday in relation to the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy at an intersection in Bangkok’s Min Buri on last Wednesday.

The boy was shot dead by one of three students riding on a motorcycle while he was riding his own motorcycle home with a friend.
The two teenagers, whose names are being withheld due to their age, include a person who rode on a second motorcycle and another who rode pillion on the bike with the 17-year-old suspected shooter and his 15-year-old friend.
The teenagers claimed they had an argument with the victim, who they did not previously know, at the intersection.
Metropolitan Police Area 3 chief Maj-General Chaiyaporn Panit-attra said police discovered the shooter had disposed of a pen gun used in the murder at a wooded area of Soi Suwinthawong 7. The single-shot gun, which looks like a pen, has not yet been found.
In a separate incident, police yesterday announced the arrest of three suspects, including the 14-year-old alleged shooter, in the murder of a 17-year-old rival who was shot dead at Wongsakorn Market in Bangkok’s Sai Mai district on Sunday. The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime.
The youngsters claimed they shot the teenager in revenge over a long-standing conflict that reportedly led to a shooting incident last year in which the 14-year-old’s grandmother was killed, Sai Mai police superintendent Colonel Thanakorn Konkaew said.
