Many suffer jellyfish bites in Bang Saen

Some 50 tourists have been affected by jellyfish (Rhopiloma hispidum) that swept ashore all over Bang Saen Beach in Chon Buri’s Muang district, Chon Buri “Chalam Khao” marine rescue group deputy president Kittipong Traiboon said yesterday.
Many sought first aid after being exposed to the jellyfish and recovered within two hours, he said adding that the number of affected people yesterday was lower than the previous day when nearly 100 people were affected. He said that so far only two people were in a severe condition due to an allergic reaction to the jellyfish toxin and were being treated at Burapha University Hospital.
