Long lines at Grand Palace to pay tribute to late King

Thousands of people formed long lines outside the Grand Palace on Sunday as they waited their turn to lay prostrate before the Royal Urn and pay respects to HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej inside the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall.

The late monarch passed away on October 13 last year.
With the Royal Cremation Ceremonies scheduled to take place next month, the Royal Household Bureau has set September 30 as the last day for mourners to pay respects before the Royal Urn.
Since the planned closing of the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall to members of the public was announced in mid-September, the turnout of mourners at the Grand Palace has increased significantly.
