Phimai floods worsen, hitting three more tambons

The Mool River in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Phimai district continued to rise and overflow to inundate three more tambons on Tuesday morning.

Last week, the bloated river burst its banks to flood houses along the banks in two tambons.
On Tuesday, the river flooded houses along its banks in Tambon Nai Muang, Tambon Tha Luang, Tambon Bote, Tambon Than Lalod and Tambon Samrit.
In Tambon Nai Muang, the river overflowed to flood the residences of government officials and public prosecutors, as well as flooding the road in front of the Phimai district chief’s residence. The water level was about 30 to 40 centimetres.
In Tambon Tha Luang, a main road was under about 40cm water for about 800 metres.
Officials said about 4,000 rai (640 hectares) of paddy fields in the district had been flooded.
