Clean-up of Sukhumvit reduces its appeal

Clean-up of Sukhumvit reduces its appeal

I see the tessakit are making a determined effort to rid Sukhumvit and other roads of vendors by deploying at regular intervals along the footpaths.

Walking from Asoke to Nana the other night, the area now lacks light, colour and vibrancy.
Before, it was a struggle walking between two rows of vendors with customers blocking the remaining narrow walkway, but now the area lacks life with tourists left wondering what happened to Bangkok’s famous night markets and roadside stalls.
Surely the authorities can come to some arrangement for vendors and pedestrians to share the footpaths equally.
This would be a simple win-win solution for everyone and tourists could once again enjoy testing their bargaining skills.
