
Simon Ordsall might be interested to know that, according to Reuters, the US economy grew 3 per cent in the second quarter of this year. Growth was the strongest since the first quarter of 2015. And “there are signs that the momentum was sustained at the start of the third quarter”.
The US stock market has added $4 trillion since Donald Trump arrived in the White House. While stock markets are influenced by investor sentiment and geo-politics, they are mainly driven by corporate earnings. This indicates an economy in good health.
