Comparing Trump with Lee would horrify proud Singaporeans
Re: “Secret of great leadership? Trump has it and so did Lee Kuan Yew”, Have Your Say, yesterday.
In an attempt to kill two birds with one stone I would like to suggest that anyone who can claim Donald Trump is “interested only in receiving clearly expressed non-distorted facts, free of lies and embellishments” is not someone you can productively approach with a counter-argument. Far from attacking Mr Wilcox, I stated I enjoyed his letters for their comic value, and sure enough he provides another. Perhaps I missed Lee Kuan Yew’s payment to a porn star, or his charity being closed down for a “shocking pattern of illegality” or his lie count reaching 10,000 in three years, but I doubt it. Mr Lee was a man of morals and integrity, something that can never be said about Trump.
The Singaporeans I know would be apoplectic at the thought that their ex-premier was in any shape or form similar to Don the Deceiver.
