USA gave Thai World Cup team a taste of their own medicine
Before berating the Americans over running up the score in their 13-0 World Cup football win over Thailand, bear in mind that the Thai women’s team are no saints either.
The Thai women showed no mercy against the Cambodians or Indonesians, defeating them 17-0 and 13-0 in qualifying games previously.
Now it could be argued that the American women went over the top by celebrating some of their goals too much Nonetheless, they should not be vilified for playing a relentless game and giving their best effort.
However, I must admit that there was no reason for the Americans to get so excited when, after the first few goals, the result of the game was not in question here.
