LISA’s SaWaDiKa tops 70 million YouTube views in 24 hours

Thai singer Lalisa Manobal, known as LISA, has thanked fans and the international team behind “SaWaDiKa” after the music video attracted more than 70 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours.

The World Music Awards also reported that the video had reached No 1 in worldwide YouTube trending.

LISA shared behind-the-scenes photographs on her Instagram account, @lalalalisa_m, alongside a message marking one day since the release. She acknowledged the people involved in bringing the project to life and the support of her fans.

Thai greetings, fashion and familiar sights

The song takes its name from “Sawasdee ka”, a Thai greeting. Its video features filming locations in Thailand, distinctive fashion, tuk-tuks and Muay Thai shorts, bringing elements of Thai identity into both the setting and styling.

The choreography also incorporates the wai, the traditional Thai greeting made by bringing the palms together. Alongside the song’s title and visual references, the gesture gives Thai culture a prominent place in the production.

Fans around the world responded to the behind-the-scenes post with likes, hearts and congratulatory comments, celebrating both the release and its presentation of Thai culture.

LISA’s message recognised collaborators across Thailand, Korea and Los Angeles. She also addressed Lilies directly, saying their support was essential and expressing excitement about sharing what comes next.

She signed off with the Thai words “Khob Khun Ka”, meaning “Thank you”.
