Partying a la 'MODE'

Partying a la 'MODE'

Bangkok's very first "nightlife hotel" gets in a very festive mood

SERIOUS FUN ARRIVES in the business district of Sathorn this weekend as Mode Sathorn underlines it status as a “nightlife hotel” with three bars, three famous DJs and three nights of partying.
Brand-new designer watering holes The Roof @38th Bar, Pool Bar and Theatre Bar, will simultaneously celebrate their official openings with a packed programme of cool parties and a promise to keep up the pace with special features every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Roof @ 38th Bar is designed for in-vogue outdoor chilling and partying. The chic space is enhanced with sweeping views of three bends in the Chao Phraya and three bridges while the full bar shakes up classic and original cocktails alongside local and imported beers, fine wines and premium shorts and shooters.
Pool Bar combines the natural allure of a tropical garden with a dramatic effect of infinity-edged water, inviting the eye to admire the uptown lights of Bangkok. At the centre of all this is a sunken bar to keep guests refreshed and serving up sumptuous eats to go with the booze.
Perhaps the most exciting is the Theatre Bar. Brace yourself for enigmatic sensorial overload with glowing lights from every direction, funky chair backrests with moulded white faces and a stunning, panoramic view of the Bangkok night skyline. The bar’s most outstanding features are the 360-degree bubble TV/video screens suspended from the ceiling, the first of their kind in Bangkok
Tonight’s party theme is “New York, New York”. In The Roof @38th Bar, Bow down to the Queen of House – DJ Barbara Tucker from Brooklyn – as she spins her chart topping hits such as “I Get Lifted”, “Stay Together”, “Let Me Be”, “Care Free”, “Feelin’ Like a Superstar” and many more.
Sharing Tucker’s decks is another international guest, DJ Aaron James, who has spent the last 15 years rocking parties at home and across the globe.
DJ Zappi Ibiza helps punters party in the pool while DJ Octo spins at Theatre Bar.
Tomorrow is the British Invasion party, led by DJ Barry Ashworth of the Dub Pistols fame at Theatre Bar. A fearless soldier working behind the frontlines of the UK’s thriving dance music scene, Ashworth began his musical journey by working as a club promoter, later heading off to exotic Ibiza where he established two famous club nights: Monkey Drum and Naked Lunch. Partying with the same intensity with which he made his bristling music, the Dub Pistols were born in 1996 when Ashworth solidified his beat-heavy unique sound.
At The Roof@38TH Bar, impeccable duo Tech 12 and DJ Octo are set to destroy the dancefloor.
Chill out on Sunday with Pool Sessions & Balearic Brunch where Aaron James returns and teams up with DJ Zappi Ibiza for some seriously relaxing tunes.
Mode is also celebrating Christmas with the Grinches Jingle Jam Xmas party at all three venues offering nu disco, deep house and trendy house sounds from Matt King Cole and DJ Kani as well as DJs Octo and Zappi Ibiza.

The grand opening parties are tonight, tomorrow, Sunday and Tuesday. They start at 9pm. Admission is free.
Mode Sathorn is located next to Surasak BTS. Call (02) 623 4555 or visit www.ModeSathorn.com.
