Tata just couldn't wait to get her baby onstage

Tata just couldn't wait to get her baby onstage

Singer Amita "Tata" Young isn't "sick" - she's pregnant. There's a big difference, you know. That was pretty much her reply to reporters implying that she ought to be more concerned about the baby's health, rather than, say, dancing onstage with a

Tata, who’s two months pregnant, had just appeared in the 10th-anniversary concert of A-Time, a subsidiary of GMM Grammy. “Pregnant women are not ‘sick’, and I intend to go about my life normally, she says. “I want to do my best onstage because I respect my fans.”
Tata learned she was pregnant less than two weeks before the show. She and her husband Chachat-adul “Mor” Sinapongpipit had actually given up on conceiving, but then one morning her pregnancy-test kit came up positive. “I was really excited, so we used all eight kits we had to make sure and then went to see the doctor in the afternoon.”
Despite confirmation that she was expecting, Tata insisted on going ahead with the A-time show, though she made a few minor changes, such as lowering those high heels and toning down her dance routine. “I also talked to my baby and said, ‘This is my career and I hope you’re strong and stay with me.’”
Tata miscarried last December but never told the press. This time around she can tell the baby is healthy. “There’s no morning sickness. I’m feeling so good and confident!”
After the concert she met a doctor again to ensure that everything was still alright. Tata and Mor are very excited and already have a name in mind for the baby. They still don’t know its gender, mind you – she wants to wait until she actually goes into labour. “Frankly I don’t mind if it’s a boy or a girl, or even if the child wants to change its gender when it grows up. We’re very open about it.”
Mor didn’t have a lot to say while Tata was chattering away, but when he did get a line in edgewise, it was a lovely one. He said his only wish if for the baby to be just like Tata.

Kan takes a breather

Actor Kan Kantathavorn has clarified the circumstances of his split with PolyPlus, his agency and the producers of his several hit TV series, saying there was no conflict involved.
“I’m an independent actor now, just so you know,” he told the press while doing a spot for Close-up toothpaste. Kan said he’d left PolyPlus purely because he wants more time for himself and his family. His contract lapsed in March and he decided not to extend it. “In my three years with PolyPlus I did three TV series a year and it took a lot out of me. I’d love to spend more time with my loved ones and my four dogs.
Kan described himself as the “work hard, play hard” type who always gives 100 per cent when he’s in a series. “And now I think it’s time to rest – I’m not too enthusiastic about acting right now. I was getting up at 7am and working ’til 3am for too long.”
Nevertheless, Kan still thinks of PolyPlus as his home. “I’ve learned a lot from the company,” he said. The final scenes for his last remaining series, “Leud Tad Leud”, will be shot by the end of this month, and then he’s out of here. “I’ll be mainly travelling in Europe and the United States with friends. I think I’ll be away until the end of the year and then get back to work next year.”
