Leading Thai ladies get together on stage to raise awareness of the cancers that affect the fairer sex

POPULAR concert series “What Women Worth” recently returned for its sixth edition to the Bangkok Convention Centre Hall at Central Lat Phrao, packing in the crowds and achieving its goal for raising awareness about women’s cancers through a set of songs sung by Thailand’s leading female vocalists.
Fans amassed outside the hall before the event got underway and had a great time taking photos and selfies with their favourite artists.
Deafening screams rang out as the lights dimmed and the curtain rose to reveal Patcharasri “Kalamare” Benjamas and Ekkachai “DJ Ekkie” Euasangkomsert, who sang and danced together to a cover of Saowaluck “Amp” Leelabutr’s “Yak Suay” and made the audience laugh with their jokes.
Lalana “Jeab” Kongtoranin was next up, surprising the crowd by riding a motorbike on the stage before performing Doobadoo’s “Mai Chai Phuchai” with a group of dancers.
Siriporn “Tak” Yooyod took the audience back to the beginning of her music career with the hit “Chan Mai Chai Nang Ek” and a cover of Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time”, with her powerful pitches winning her plenty of applause.
Thanaporn “Parn” Waekprayoon, whose songs continue to make an impact on the lives of women, came out onstage with her emotive tracks “Kwam Jing Khong Phuying Ao Tae Jai” and “Ruang Ngai Ngai Thi Phuchai Mai Roo”.
And even though actress Penpak “Tai” Sirikul has passed the half century mark, she managed to look as young and sexy as ever in a revealing white costume as she performed “Khon Mai Rak Dee” and “Chan Loei Okay” from her debut album, “I’m Okay” released in 1992. Applause was long and loud as she showed off her moves with a group of male dancers boasting rippling muscles on their bare torsos.
Nipaporn “Zani” Thititanakarn of True Academy Fantasia fame also won some wolf-whistles when she turned out in a see-through shirt and shorts for a cover of Da Endorphine’s “Ying Thai” and followed up with Micro’s “Yang Ngai Kor Don”.
She was then joined by Jeab Lalana for Asanee-Wasan Chotikul’s hit “Bang Earn Tid Din”, a performance that had the audience up and dancing.
The crowd stayed on their feet as they moved to Parn Thanaporn and Tak Siriporn’s renditions of New-Jew’s “Mai Rak Mai Tong” and Bao-Parn’s “Ngao Mai Khao Jai”.
But perhaps the biggest surprise of the night came when handsome lad, Napat “Nine” Siangsomboon came out on stage. The son of actress Pimpaka, he had the girls swooning with his heartfelt rendition of Elvis Costello’s “She”.
The concert wrapped with all artists coming back out to perform Thongchai “Bird” McIntyre’s “Ther Phu Mai Phae”, reminding all women everywhere not to give up the fight.
