A fan of Bahrt - up to a point
Eric Bahrt claims he only "gets personal" if others attack him first. Steady on, Eric. I'm a fan, in general, and keep a copy of all your missives and missiles.
Over the past month you have lampooned your critics on Thai politics as “clowns”, “spoilt brats” and the like. You also have a tendency to misinterpret other writers – including me, when you suggested my desire was to deny Thais the same freedoms I inherited as a British national. Poppycock! (I’m half-Hungarian anyway.)
You liven up the Letters column no end, Eric, but please don’t lock yourself away too tightly in your ivory tower of righteousness. Your literary adversaries, including several linguistically savvy Thais, live in the real world too.
