The UDD could win credit and credibility for its actions if it honestly and sincerely sticks to the motto “No double standards”. If Thais forget and forgive the group’s previous loose commitment to this mantra in many cases involving the Shinawatras and their various parties, it could play an important part in forming an honest, true and corruption-free democracy. If it instead continues to criticise and focus on corruption on only one side in the current power struggle, everybody will see it operates with a political agenda and is not comprised of knights nobly fighting against corruption.
