Extradite Red Bull heir over policeman’s killing

Extradite Red Bull heir over policeman’s killing

I fully agree with the storm raised against Pattarasak “DJ Keng” Thiemprasert, who forcefully backed his pickup twice into a stationary Yaris, then lied that the Yaris had hit his truck. This man richly deserves jail.

But there’s a bigger villain, even more deserving of society’s wrath. In 2012 Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya admitted to hitting a policeman on a motorcycle with his Ferrari. Instead of stopping to help the officer, who later died of his injuries, Vorayuth ran home to Daddy. He seems now to be living overseas, apparently waiting for the statute of limitations on his three charges to run out. Given his wealth, he can do this easily.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha should show us that all reckless drivers come under the rule of law, even the exceedingly rich. If the Red Bull killer is abroad, extradite him and cancel his passport. If he’s in Thailand, try him.
Thailand should show the world that, under Prayut, justice is not for sale.
