Western bias is the real cancer threat
Re: “Western controlling mindset is spreading like cancer”, Letters January 13.
It is clear that, without the intervention of Premier Prayut Chan-o-cha, Thailand would have gone bankrupt and become dependent on the World Bank, with all its humiliating conditions of repayment. Thailand enjoys geo-strategic importance, and some foreign countries would have been more than happy if such a situation had arisen, judging by the blatant favouritism towards the former corrupt government shown by some embassies and overseas media.
Mr Arnone is missing the plot if he thinks this military government is responsible for the situation he describes.
