They don’t want your alien blood
Re: “Blood for visa scheme no joke”, Bloody Mary, Letters, April 15.
Gee, what a great idea. What about taking it a step further and getting visa-renewal waivers for donating an organ? And how about donating 10 per cent of your retirement cheque for a little sensitivity and politeness? Or, we could just politely try to convince them that, after 10 years, we should never have to go to immigration again – ever!
Bloody Mary, haven’t you figured out yet that it’s not about logic or fairness or blood, money or organs. It’s about reminding us regularly that they have the power over us and can remove us any time they like. Once you learn to accept that, you’ll be a lot more comfortable.
