Philippine slaughter won’t hurt drug trade in long run
John Arnone sounds like a hypocrite (Letters, Nov 6)! He’s always whining that society picks on him because he smokes – cigarettes kill far more people than drugs – yet supports Philippine President Duterte’s murderous war on drugs where thousands of people have been slain by tered by extra judicial killings, by vigilante groups, some victims were hog-tied and almost all were poor people.
No smokers or rich drug users have anything to fear. And the ultimate irony is that history shows this barbaric slaughter in the Philippines will not in the long run make a dent in the drug trade.
