A rose by any other name
Organic skincare brand Neal’s Yard Remedies from the UK has collaborated with Ella Mills, an English food blogger who writes under the name Deliciously Ella, to launch a special healthy skincare range, Deliciously Ella, that includes facial wash and moisturiser formulated from rose, lime and cucumber.
Ella discovered her passion for plant-based recipes after being diagnosed with a rare illness called Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS). She couldn’t walk down the street, slept for 16 hours a day and was in chronic pain most of the time. When conventional medicine failed to help her, she decided to completely overhaul her diet. The results were incredible, and though initially far from confident in the kitchen, Ella started blogging about her new approach to food and posting recipes.
Still only 24 years old, she has created a hugely popular app to accompany the blog, and runs regular cookery classes and supper clubs. Her blog has a huge online following with currently more than five million visitors every month, She is also a food columnist for the Daily Telegraph and her first book “Deliciously Ella” was among Amazon’s best-selling titles in 2015.
“As I became more conscious about what I was putting into my body, I started thinking more and more about what I was using on my skin. If my recipes contained only the best ingredients, why shouldn’t my skincare? With this in mind, I wanted to create a line of natural skincare products that made looking and feeling your best as easy as possible. I’ve always loved Neal’s Yard Remedies, so working together was the natural choice. I wanted the products to smell beautiful and feel great on my skin as well.
“Neal’s Yard Remedies and I tried many ingredients and decided to go with rose, lime and cucumber, some of my favourite organic ingredients. I am also obsessed with the scent of roses. I’m so excited to launch my new collection which is packed with some of my favourite organic ingredients,” says Mills.
