Phra Buddha Issara never went into hiding
Re: “Dhammachayo is probably right to stall surrender”, Letters, March 4.
If all the people accused of criminal offences were allowed to wait until after the next general election before turning themselves in – as Somsak Pola suggests – the pile of unfinished criminal cases would reach as high as Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai.
Khun Somsak claims that Phra Buddha Issara was given just that privilege after he was charged over disrupting the election of 2014.
The two cases are different, however. Phra Buddha Issara did not escape arrest, while Phra Dhammachayo is still hiding behind his disciples.
