Fit fun with Charlie Brown

Fit fun with Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown, his pet beagle Snoopy and their friends are ready to get fit and fun with the fans of the comic strip at “Peanuts Zumba Dance in Bangkok” this Sunday (March 12) at the National Stadium in Bangkok.

There will be plenty of booths selling Peanuts products and Bamrungrad International Hospital will be on hand offering physical check-ups at its mobile station. Check-up vouchers will also be given to lucky participants.
The highlight kicking off at 5pm is the zumba fitness session conducted by Yodchai “Khru Num” Yamakupt, with many celebrities taking part. Expect to get fit and have fun with Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Sally, Marcie and Schroeder from popular comic strip.
American cartoonist Charles M Schulz gave birth to the “Peanuts” strip in 1950 and 67 years later the whole family will be dancing along with you. Zumba dance incorporates Latin and other dances – but you don’t have to know how to dance. It’s all about boosting the heart rate and burning calories.
“Our target audience is young Bangkokians and the new-gen workforce who are fans of ‘Peanuts’,” says Rachakorn Wongyod, division manager of Global Brands Group (Thailand), a licensee of Peanuts products in Thailand.
“Our objective is to have fun and at the same time give a helping hand to society. Part of the proceeds will go to support the Voice (From Us) Foundation initiated by Chonrada Makratree to rescue dogs and cats.”
The registration fee is Bt99, or you can pay Bt299 or Bt499 and get limited-edition Peanuts items.
