Run for chairty

The 1.5 million steps for Navamindrabobhit Building charity running campaign has begun yesterday, starting from Chiang Mai, runners are heading to Bangkok at Siriraj Hospital and hoping to raise the donation to build the building at the hospital where more than a million people per year.

The name of the Navamindrabobhit 84 Years building was given by the late King Bhumiboladulyadej. The building doesn’t have a single-patient room type to expand the support to general and underprivileged patients
Initiated by Mahidol University’s Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, the running leads by their medical students who volunteer to be the core runners that switch from one to another by passing a baton like the relay race and planning to arrive the Siriraj Hospital on March 17. Anyone are welcomed to join the race where they can check the route through the facebook page at visit  facebook.com/Runfornavamindrapobitr.
Along the way, celebrities are invited to run with the students as well including Bodyslam’s lead singer Artiwara Kongmalai and Nadech Kugimiya.
Thirty years ago, a group of medical students from Siriraj initiated the project, running from Chiang Mai to Bangkok for raising fund in building the Sayamin Building.  The starting point of both runnings is the same place at The McCormick Hospital at Chiang Mai where shares the history with the university when it was the hospital that His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol, the father of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej worked there after he graduated Medical school from Harvard University.
