A night at the opera
Join Opera Siam for its annual fundraiser gala dinner on April 8 and enjoy the vocal prowess of young opera stars from England in an unforgettable concert. Titled “A Night at the Opera”, the show features a selection of beloved arias from Puccini, Verdi, Mozart and Donizetti.
The Cambridge International Opera company presents world class opera in theatres and international concert halls by singers who have graduated from Cambridge University and some of the best colleges in Great Britain. Members of the ensemble include soprano Billie Robson, mezzo soprano Simone Ibbett-Brown, tenor Robert Humphries, counter tenor Tim Morgan, baritone Lawrence Halksworth and pianist John Wright.
The programme includes Monteverdi’s “Pur ti miro”, Handel’s “Nella terra, in ciel, nell’onda”, Donizetti’s “Una furtiva lagrima” and Bellini’s “Or dove fuggo io mai?” as well as selections from Mozart's “The Marriage of Figaro” and other classics by Tosti, Bizet, Tchaikovsky and Puccini.
The event takes place at the Dusit Thani Hall of Dusit Thani Bangkok. Cocktails start from 6, followed by dinner by master chef Christian Ham at 7pm, the opera performance and celebrity auction.
