Sweet tastes of Sonkgran

 Sweet tastes of Sonkgran

Celebrate Songkran in traditional Thai style at the Anantara Siam Bangkok.

Celebrate Songkran in traditional Thai style at the Anantara Siam Bangkok with a ritual alms offering to 99 monks and novices in front of the hotel, a Songkran parade from the lobby to the pool terrace, and a water ceremony. Then head to the Spice Market for a lunch of khao chae – rice in iced jasmine-scented water with deep-fried shrimp paste balls, sweet dried turnips and deep-fried shallots with shredded pork. The feast continues well after the Thai new year too with the khao chae set available for lunch Monday to Saturday until April 29 for Bt720 and the traditional Thai dessert “Thai Whan Yen” with your preferred topping of gingko, sticky rice, sweetened potato and sweet corn (Bt109) on offer through June 30.
