Moving to the Beat

Moving to the Beat

The new Sport Beat V8 headset comes with earphones that won’t fall out no matter how hard you exercise

A MUST HAVE for any exercise enthusiast, the Sport Beat V8 Bluetooth gizmo is a stereo wireless inear headset with good quality earphones.
The V8 is easily controlled thanks to a magnetic on/off control that switches off automatically when you connect the backs of the earpieces. Separate them and the V8 is once again ready for Bluetooth pairing and connection.
Even better, the phones are designed to securely fit your ears and thanks to the provided ear wings and tips won’t fall out when you are jogging or dancing. Three sizes of wings and tips come with the pack to ensure that you find one that will fit your ear lobes and ear canals.

And as a preventive measure, the cord that connects the two earpieces together is designed to be placed behind your neck to prevent the earphones from falling in the event that they do slip out. You can also slide the cable locker to adjust the cable length. The locker is also used to keep the ear pieces together when you turn the V8 off by connecting them with the magnet.
Moreover, the V8 is water and sweat resistant, boasting an IPX4 rating that promises you can use the headset even in light rain.
The V8 is light and comfortable to wear. During the test, I wore the earphones for hours without feeling discomfort.
The right earpiece has volume buttons and the multifunction button. You longpress the volume buttons to increase or decrease the volume, shortpress the volume up button to skip forward to the next track and shortpress the volume down button to skip back to the previous track.

The V8 also has a builtin microphone for use as a headset for your smartphone. You press the multifunction button to pick up, hang up or redial. While playing music, the multifunction button is used to pause or replay the music.
Status is provided via a vocal report. For example, when the two pieces are disconnected and separated, it enters the pairing status and you will hear “Power on” and “Pairing” voices. When it is connected to your smartphone, you will hear “Connected”. After the first connection, it will automatically link with your smartphone without having to enter pairing mode again.
The V8 has good sound quality. It supports frequency response of 20 hz to 20 kHz and it has a high signal to noise ratio of 90 dB.
I tested it with the Sony Walkman NWA25 and my Huawei Mate 8 smartphone. During the test, I enjoyed using the V8 to listen to rock and appreciated the bass when the earpieces were firmly and properly seated in my ear canals. The V8 also has good sound clarity and boosts the midrange sounds so I could hear the music details.
The earphones’ builtin battery supports about eight hours of music playback.
Sport Beat V8 Bluetooth earphones are available in black only and black and green and are priced at Bt1,200. The set can be purchased online fromwww.SportBeatShop.com and at Facebook.com/SportBeatThailand.
